What is Laser Tattoo Removal Like?

Normally, laser tattoo removal is effective and complete in 2-5 visits. Obviously, the size of the tattoo and other factors determine how many visits. During your initial consultation, your doctor will estimate this for you.

The procedure normally will consist of the same procedure. After prepping, your skin will be tested and the procedure will begin. Be aware, there is normally no form of anesthesia involved, and the treatment will be outpatient.

A hand piece is placed on the skin and the laser lights are turned on. You will feel some discomfort as the light pulses. It is referred to as almost a pinching of the skin. After the laser tattoo removal treatment, an ice pack is normally used to soothe the area, and an ointment is applied along with a skin patch for protection. That's it, you now resume your normal activities.
